The Diversionary team is looking for awesome guest stars to assist us in our day-to-day operations! You’ll gain valuable experience in theatre production and nonprofits while helping your local LGBTQIA+ and theatre community. We’re always in need of volunteer help and are happy to work around your schedule. If you don’t see a volunteer opportunity listed below but would like to lend your skills, let us know what you can offer and we’ll find an opportunity for you.Box Office Operations
Duties include handling incoming calls, ticket orders, and other small assigned tasks.
Day Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 12-6:00 PM
Night Shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 6-9:30 PM, and Sundays 12-3:30 PM
Special Events and Festivals
Special event and festival volunteers assist in tasks such as set-up and general staffing. Festival volunteers may assist with booth crew tasks including step-up and break-down, and engaging with the public from our booth at festivals and street fairs.Special Projects
Volunteers for our special projects assist with tasks around the theatre on an as-needed basis, ranging from organizing costumes to cleaning the theatre, and even painting.Writing
General literary assistance, including doing research for our InDepth articles, proofreading, e-newsletters, and other writing tasks.Volunteer Interest

Diversionary Theater ushers are needed for special events, our Mainstage shows, Cabarets, and other live performances. Our ushers often tell us that Diversionary is one of the best gigs in town when it comes to gaining hands-on experience in live theatre!
