We hope you will play an active role in the theatre's life through participation
as an actor, as an office volunteer, as an usher, as part of the run crew...
There are so many roles to be filled to keep Diversionary going.

PLAY SUBMISSIONS:
Diversionary Theatre Play Submission Guidelines
Diversionary produces 5-6 plays per year, all
with lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender themes. Most of the plays
have a production history or are by established playwrights. But
we are interested in new work and new writers, particularly for our
new play reading series. The series will give special
emphasis to works by/for lesbians, bisexuals and LGBT youth.
If your work meets our subject guidelines, please submit.
Preferences
Length: Full
length
Style: all styles
Subject: Your play MUST be about lesbian, gay, bisexual
or transgender people, and more than 50% of the content must be about
LGBT people (please, no plays with one gay character who is not really
central to the plot).
Cast Size: 2-6 is ideal, may consider up to 10
Other: We like supporting openly LGBT playwrights, but any
playwright is welcome to submit if you meet the subject requirement.
Procedure
A Diversionary Play Submission application
MUST be submitted with your material. The application is attached
as Microsoft WORD document. Please fill out application and submit
as the first two pages of your email attachment.
The completed submission should include (all as one Microsoft WORD document):
- The 2 page application. This is your
cover sheet. No other letter or document is necessary or needed at this time.

- The first 10-15 pages of your script. Submissions
will not be returned.
Response
It will take up to six months for us to reply. Please,
we only have two staff members and a couple of volunteers for this project,
so no calls.

In the subject line, please put "TITLE" by "PLAYWRIGHT"
For example: "What the Butler Saw" by Joe Orton
(email submissions must be attached in Microsoft WORD format)
